Pommes Au Four (Baked Apples)
What’s for dessert, you ask? Well, I must confess, I’m no dessert master – there’s still a world of sweetness I have yet to conquer! But let me share one of the easiest French desserts I’ve learned: Baked Apples. 🍏✨
This delightful treat hails from the picturesque Normandy region in France, which is renowned for its luscious apples, artisanal cheeses, crisp ciders, and, of course, its delectable seafood!
When it comes to making baked apples, the secret lies in choosing top-notch apples. Trust me, the sweetness of the apples is what truly elevates this dish to a whole new level of deliciousness! I prefer to serve my baked apples slightly chilled, but traditionally, they are served at room temperature – either way, they’re simply divine!
Now, if you’re wondering about the raisins, I like to toss them in for a little extra texture and sweetness, but they’re completely optional. The original baked apples recipe doesn’t include raisins, so feel free to customise it to your taste!
